WRITE FOR US
One of the main things we strive to do at Pardesi is open up conversations around traditionally difficult conversations. From experiences of racism and misogyny to colorism, your relationship with your hair to food, we encourage our community to explore your identity through content creation and share it with us.
As a South Asian woman it is easy to feel isolated and disconnected. By sharing your experiences and thoughts in the safe space that we have created at Pardesi, you can connect to other women from around the world who are feeling similar things to you.
Creating content for us is easy - we don't require any prior experience, and will work with you to shape and form your ideas if necessary.

ARTICLES
Email contactpardesi@gmail.com with the working title of your article pitch in the subject heading along with the style of article you wish to write.
In the body of the email, introduce yourself, and in 5-8 sentences, provide us with a high-level outline of your idea.
Please also include ideas for a title for your piece and attach a working draft (if you have already started writing the piece).
Please name your files with the title of your piece NOT "Pardesi.1 etc."
NOTE: We will try and get back to you within 10 days, but as we are all working full time with our day jobs, this timeline is not a guarantee. If you have not heard back from us after a month, please email us again!

WHAT CAN I WRITE ABOUT?
We encourage all of our content creators to explore their identity in the topics they write about, and we also encourage a wide variety of form!
You can send in a long form personal essay about your experiences, a listicle of your favourite books by South Asian authors, a podcast review, a movie review, a lifestyle piece, a fashion piece - absolutely anything that fits in with our ethos of amplifying, empowering and celebrating South Asian women worldwide.
WHAT CAN'T I WRITE ABOUT?
Even though our mere existence in this world as a South Asian woman is an act of political resistance, at Pardesi we do not discuss geopolitical or party political issues.
We firmly believe that providing an escape from the trauma of politics, and instead focus on building a nurturing and safe space for South Asian women around the world.
There are many other platforms and spaces that are better suited for political pieces.
WHAT HAPPENS NEXT?
We prefer publishing previously unpublished work, to ensure that there will be no conflict of rights over the work.
We also do reserve the right to publish or not publish previously published work, even if permission is granted by the original publisher.
If you publish first with Pardesi, you may republish with an alternate publisher, provided you have received written permission from Pardesi.
